Response time
Postdeck is built and supported by one person. I aim to respond to support emails within 2 business days. Critical bugs (data loss, crashes on launch) get priority.
Privacy
Postdeck stores all your drafts, images, and metrics locally on your device. No accounts, no tracking, no third-party analytics. Bring-your-own-key AI requests go directly to your chosen provider (Claude or OpenAI) — never through my servers. See the privacy policy for full details.
Does Postdeck auto-publish to social networks?
No — and that's intentional. Postdeck uses a hand-off model: it prepares your caption, image, and hashtags, copies them to the clipboard, then opens the platform app so you post manually. This avoids OAuth, API breakage, and account-suspension risk that subscription tools deal with constantly.
Which platforms does Postdeck support?
Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Mastodon, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest. Each platform has its own character limits, aspect ratios, and grid previews built in.
Is there a subscription?
No subscription. Postdeck is free to download with a one-time Postdeck Pro unlock ($9.99) for unlimited drafts, the Marketing tab, calendar view, advanced hashtag groups, smart reminders, and batch export.

Do I need an OpenAI or Claude API key for AI captions?
No. AI captions work for free on-device using Apple Intelligence (iOS 18+ / macOS 15+ on supported devices). If you want a different model, you can bring your own Claude or ChatGPT API key in Settings — requests go directly to your provider, never through my servers.
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard SwiftData store. No cloud sync, no remote servers. You can use Settings → Export to back up your drafts and metrics.
Can I use Postdeck on both iPhone and Mac?
Yes — Postdeck has native iPhone, iPad, and macOS apps. The one-time purchase covers all platforms via Family Sharing (if enabled in App Store Connect).
How is this different from Buffer / Later / Hootsuite?
Those are SaaS tools built for teams, charging $6–100/month per channel, requiring OAuth into your social accounts. Postdeck is a one-time-purchase native app for solo creators and indie makers. No accounts to connect, no monthly fee, no API risk.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
